Power Up Your Goals: Building Treasure Maps
Put your dreams in your pocket and come see us on Sunday, April 22 for an afternoon of fun with scissors and glue!
Have you tried vision boards, dream boards, or other collages of this kind before only to feel like they just didn’t work for you? There’s a reason! Without a goal, a good, solid goal behind it, a collage is just a collage.
Power Up Your Goals: Building Treasure Maps will teach you what the components are to a well-formed goal, how to construct your Treasure Map to have the most impact, and other tips to help you achieve your dreams.
We will supply foam board, glue, pens, and some already cut out pictures and words. Start looking through your magazines now for pictures that feel like your goal, the ones that look right, and for words or sayings that speak to you. Also, bring some pix of you, with clear face images, that you can cut up to put on the board. In other words, make a copy of that gorgeous picture of you in the mountains. We will also supply light snacks and water.

Law of Attraction Monthly Forum
We held our first Law of Attraction Monthly Forum (LoAMF) on February 1st in the Fireside Lounge at University Baptist Church in Dinkytown. We all had a great time. Rosie Bodin kept the conversation lively and on track, enlightened us with excellent stories, examples, and instruction, and helped us get our heads wrapped around this very important topic. Our next LoAMF will be on April 5th from 7-9 p.m. at the Fireside Lounge in the University Baptist Church. The focus this time will be on prosperity.
I had been working really diligently to get the monies together to attend an important workshop in Florida to no avail. I figured I’d better change what I was doing or I’d never get there. I used the skills and techniques I’ve learned to change my thoughts around the topic of the workshop. Later that day I went out to meet some friends for dinner. As I walked to the restaurant I noticed a funny looking leaf on the sidewalk. I bent down for a closer look and realized it was a little wad of cash.
When I got to the restaurant, I handed the bills to my friend and asked him to count it. He said that there was $400!
I spent the next month looking for the owner, without success. I had several friends who each said, quite independently of each other, “this is drug money – you need to turn it into healing money.” I did end up using the money I had found to help cover the expenses for the workshop, and telling the story made giving the bills to my teacher even more fun.
When I get out of my own way, the universe will provide – even to the extent of dropping cash on my head from the heavens!
Being aware, feeling gratitude, being clear with what we want, these are important pieces of living our wonderful lives. As important as understanding these tools is practicing them every chance you get. Knowing this stuff and not using it daily, then complaining that it doesn’t work is like having a car and not driving it. It won’t get you very far.
While there is always parking in the ‘hood, it can sometimes take a few times to find a spot. Be sure to leave a few minutes for parking. Also, the meters in Dinkytown operate until 10:00 p.m. and are $1.25 per hour, quarters only.
This Episode’s Exercise: Nothing is personal, everything is personal.
We often like to take things personally. Well, “like” might not be the right word, but we do a lot of taking things personally anyway.
Person A says, “So and so was looking at me in that meeting like he was so mad. I never did anything to him! Next time I see him, boy, he’d better watch it!”
So and so says, “Wow! When I was in that meeting I had the worst cramps ever. It was all I could do to sit there. I don’t even remember who was there.”
When we remember that everyone runs all of their experience through their own filters we don’t have to take anything personally. When we remember that we run all our experience through our own filters, we see that everything is personal.
The more we can recognize our own filters, the more freedom we have to really live our lives consciously.
Take some time this month in your journal to pay attention to your filters. Look at a situation you were in where you felt uncomfortable and ask yourself, “How else could I have responded to this situation.” Come up with at least three different responses and record them. Or pick a situation you see someone else in and play the same game in your journal, “How else could Darla have responded to Alfalfa in this situation?”
When we see that we have choice in how to respond, we see that we have freedom.

I was riding the bus home the evening of the first forum and was talking to a pal of mine. I told him we were hosting the forum that night on the Law of Attraction. He wanted to know what the Law of Attraction was, so I told him that the Law says,"whatever you spend your time thinking about, that’s what you get."
“It doesn’t work,” he cried, “I think about money all the time!”
I said, “Are you thinking about how much money you have, or how much money you don’t have?”
He paused for several beats, then sheepishly said, “Oh. I guess it does work.”

This Episode’s Exercise: The Gratitude Journal
Gratitude is one of our super powers. It can change the tone of your day in the blink of an eye. When you are grateful, it is impossible to feel whiny. When you are grateful, you are peaceful. When you go into your gratitude, real gratitude, things change right now.
Find a time in your day when you can have five or ten minutes to yourself. You’re going to be doing a little bit of writing, so you want a notebook, or if you are concerned about privacy, you can use your computer and password protect your document.
Make yourself comfortable, take a few deep breathes, and let your mind go to something that makes you smile. Feel the smile, then notice where inside you are feeling grateful for that something. Bring your attention into your feeling of gratitude. Notice how you feel when you feel grateful. See if you can expand the feeling of gratitude in your body.
Keeping your awareness of the feeling of gratitude in your body, list in your gratitude journal a minimum of five things you are most grateful for right now. Keep your list short. You have plenty of time to acknowledge your gratitude as you continue with your journal. Make one entry a day for the next month.
Notice how you feel as you are working on your list. Do you come up with your five items quickly? Do you feel challenged to come up with any items? How easy is it for you to find your feeling of gratitude each day? Make a note of this with your journal entry, too. At the end of each month, go back over your entries and see if you notice any patterns. If you do, make a note of this in your journal.
Let me know how it’s going for you.
